Trailer swings on uneven stretches have always been a cause for concern. Up until now, the improvement in driving safety achieved with conventional shock absorbers has been barely noticeable. These are in fact designed for excessively wide weight ranges (e.g. 0 to 4.0 t). Consequently, optimal damping is only guaranteed for trailers of medium weight (2.0 t), while for lower weights the intervention is excessive. The effect: jerks and wobbling of the trailer. With heavier weights the cushioning is insufficient.
